This is a used Semco 1378 pneumatic mixers. Mixer use two double-acting pneumatic cylinders to evenly mix liquid or viscous materials which are then injected into a polyethylene cartridge for use with a SEMCO sealant gun. The mixer was tested and does work aside from the setpoint counter which does not register. In order to be fully operational, this unit must have post and dasher assemblies which are both missing.
To see the operation please see the test video. The machine has a pneumatic cylinder in the upper portion which lowers that piston and a cylinder in the lower portion that raises the platen. The lower platen is raised up with a lever and then remains in a lifted position. After the lower platen is adjusted, the dasher control lever is activated which reciprocates the dasher rod. The reciprocating rod always stays 1/2 to 1" above the lower platen regardless fo the lower platen position. The machine is entirely pneumatically controlled. There is a pneumatic setpoint control that is supposed to count down the strokes but it does not work. Unit mechanically works well but the paint is in poor condition.
