This chamber started out as a  SM32C environmental chamber but was converted to basically a chamber with cryogenic plumbing for LN2 and GN and keeping it's heating feature.  There is an elaborate article mounting frame inside the chamber which is adjustable in the XYZ axes. The chamber is in very good cosmetic condition and it does operate in heating mode, but the refrigeration systems were disconnected and partially disassembled.  The refrigeration compressor skid has been unbolted and it is loose with all the refrigeration tubing being cut along with the electrical conduits to the compressors.  An LN2 and GN piping system was added to the side of the chamber that appears to have been controlled by an external source since there is a bundle of wires that go the Ln2 solenoids that are not connected to anything currently.

We do not know the condition of the compressors.  This chamber might be useful as a heat-only chamber or you could connect the LN2 solenoids to the cooling channels on the current control system to make a functional heating and cooling chamber again.

  • Clean chamber
  • Chamber works in heat mode only currently
  • Original Thermotron 2800 control system appears fully functional
  • Originally had humidity capability, current operating condition unknown.
  • compressor skid completely disconnected from chamber, copper refrigeration lines cut and conduit cut
  • One fan motor is noisy
  • Liquid nitrogen piping and valves added to side of chamber
  • Main door is custom made
  • To get heat to work, jumper wires 2 and 3 on terminal strip (due to cut wires going to refrigeration skid)
  • chamber ID: 38 x 38 x 38"
  • Original specs: -90 to 356 F
  • Original humidity: 10 to 98% humidity
