This is a nuclear-grade 10kVA DC to AC power inverter for converting 100VDC to 120V AC for UPS applications. These ferroresonant tranformer-based provide high quality power to ultra critical applications which is why they are usually used in nuclear power plants. Transformer based invertors are more reliable and simpler than PWM units but cost much more. This can be used as a UPS unit with the addition of a 100-140V battery bank. Another feature this unit has is the "bypass" which uses a grid connection to switch to if there is an issue with the battery circuit. In order to be power-plant grade these cabinets are seismic rated and have a usable life of 40 years. If you need a UPS unit in this kW range you have the option to purchase a PWM commercially available unit or you could purchase this massively overbuilt , nuclear grade, ultra reliable unit for less.
