This is a set of packing rings made by Copes-Vulcan Inc, model 60036.

These were in long term storage as a spare part for a soot blower, model DA1052-1000.
These have a tapered edge. Six of the set are tapered on both sides. The two end rings each have one flat side. Please see photos below.
The rings are very similar to Garlock 5501
