Misc. Process Equipment Parts

  This is a pair of two cast-in band heaters for heating a cylinder or barrel that is about 20" in diameter.  These were originally used on a plastic processing machine onboard a Navy ship.  Each half produces 6000 watts of heat for a total of 12000 watts.  We applied  208V three phase to one half and it quickly heated up to 450 Deg F when we turned it off but the temperature was still rising.  Similar aluminum cast-in heaters are rated at 600-700 F and we see no reason this would not achieve that temp.

  Each half has two Canon style plugs on each end.  Each plug has four pins, so 3 for the three phase legs and one for ground.  There are three heaters in each half that stretch from one side of the unit to the other so each plug represents each end of the heater.  For example, pin1 on the left plug is for one end of a heater and Pin1 on the right plug is for the other end of the same heater. 

  To achieve the rated 6000 watts you must connect the heaters in a Delta manner.  The housing for the Canon plugs can be removed to reveal the heater terminals so the Canon plug could be eliminated if desired.
