This is a used manually operated heated/cooled platen press in very good operating condition. The press has a lever that is pumped to create the hydraulic pressure and the upper, middle and lower platens are electrically heated and cooled with fluid. The temperature for the platens is set on the digital temperature controllers. The second set of smaller temp controllers is for overtemp protection.
The press was tested by hand pumping the two speed pump and it worked well and achieved the max pressure of 60,000lbs. Heating system was tested and all three platens heated up and held the setpoint well. The cooling system would just use a manual valve that the operator opens when cooling is desired. The press is in very good condition.
The only fault is one of the cooling line nipples that threads into the lower platen stipped out of the platen. The fix would be drilling and tapping the hole to the next pipe size or just move the hose location to another one of the available threaded holes in the platen.
